Tliluka on the west by the Bigewadi Taluka on the south by the Krishna River separating it from the Hungun Taluka and on the east by the Surpur Taluka of His Highness the Nizdm's territory. [...] At the time of the first revision settlement in 1876 the increase in the classification value put on the lands of the Don Valley was 4 annas for the best soil nearest the river and fell to 1 anna for inferior land further away from the river. [...] The formation to the north of the Krishna consists of gneissic rock ; north of this is the sandstone which is succeeded in the north by the Deccan trap prevalent in all the tflukas of this district to the north of the Krishna. [...] In years of scarcity or famine the small part of the ttiluka to the east of Nalatwad is generally somewhat better of than the rest of the taluka. [...] The following table gives the average percentage: of the different crops and compares it with the average during the same period for the five talukas north of the Krishna :- Nature of crop.
