The progressive figures must not therefore be understood as necessarily representing the sum of the monthly figures shown in the table or the sum of the latest month's figures and of the progressive figures published in the preceding month. [...] Stocks of sacking cloth and bags at the end of December 1942 was 23.7 crores of yards and registered an increase of 1 crore of yards as copared with the previous month and of 5.3 crores of yards as compared with the same month of the previous year. [...] jute was exported to the extent of 32 000 tons in December 1942 showing a decrease of 6 000 tons as compared with the preceding month and an increase of 16 000 tons as compared with the same month of the previous year.' Total exports of raw jute during the nine months ending December 1942 aggregated 200 000 tons as against 243 000 tons in the corresponding period of the previous year.
