The progressive figures must not therefore be understood as necessarily representing the sum of the monthly figures shown in the table or the sum of the latest month's figures and of the progressive figures published in the preceding month. [...] The general tone of the market throughout the month was however cautious in anticipation of a possible decline in prices folloing the opening of mills and markets in Ahmeabad in the near future and towards the end of the month a slightly weak tendency became notice. [...] The outlook for jute continued to be dominated by the transport situation in the jute districts which prevented sellers from operating in the market.
