He said how impressed he had been by the willingness of the authorities at Oxford to make every arrangement for the higher education of the work-people and how glad he was to find that some of the leading tutors at Oxford thought highly of the work done by the students in the Tutorial Classes organised in different parts of the country by the Universities and the Workers' Educational Association [...] David the Headmaster of Clifton is of all the present headmasters the most sensitive to the social claims of our day the most far-seeing and courageous in his efforts to adjust the Public School system to the new political conditions of our time Within a few weeks the appoinment should be made. [...] If there is sufficiently careful and easy work at the beginning if the rate of progress is determined by whether or not the pupils have mastered what is in hand and if the pace is set according to the needs of the slowest earnest student rather than by the abilities of the quickest pupils will not be muddled at the very outset and will not give up the struggle in the settled belief that they ar [...] The great danger in iritis is that the exudation which takes place from the iris may cause the iris to adhere to the cornea in front or to the capsule of the lens behind or may form a film which completely closes the pupil. [...] In the treatment of iritis the most useful drug is atropine which relieves pain and by dilating the iris prevents the formation of adhesions or the occlusion of the pupil.
