Thring that great sane educationist (in the proper sense of the word) likens the state of affairs brought about by the common mental attitude of the average boy towards the average teacher to the endeavour to fill a kettle by holding it under the pump with the lid on. [...] And the older Universities which are bound in the course of time to be made the subject of further inquiry on behalf of the State will probably be well advised in gradually setting up this new relationship with the Government Departments and in establishing precedents for the wise abstinence on the part of the State from detailed interference with University work. [...] In the accompanying lesson an attempt is made to show this causal sequence in Geography in the following respects :- (a) The influence of situation on the surface of the sea the sea on the surface of the land with regard to climate and rainfall. [...] To make education serve the interests of all the people and to increase the usefulness of the school in the community; such is the hope of prgressive educators throughout India and such a result Social Service is helping to bring. [...] If we place side by side the Training College curriculum and the full High School course leading up to the Matriculation or School Final examination leaving out of consideration the subject of Teaching' from the former and of English from the latter we shall come to know that the High School course is decidedly superior to that of the Training College in almost all the subjects.
