[...] On the 22nd November last the Syndicate wrote to the proprietor that the College should at once be placed under the care of a responsible Committee of Management that they should carry out the reforms suggested in the report of Mr Pedler and that in default the Syndicate would have to consider the disconnection of the College with the University. [...] In the meanwhile Behary Lall Roy entered into an agreement with the proprietor of the rival College at Barisal for the amalgamation of the two institutions and actually placed the management of his college in the hands of the proprietor of the other college.
