Thus the Kalikp. deals with the exploits and worship of Kali or Kalika who is primarily the Yoga-nidra and Maya of Visnu a but who later became the wife of Siva as the dark-complexioned Daksayani ( Sat! ) and Käll ( the daughter of Menaka )5 for the good of the world. [...] The inclusion of the title _Kama or ' in all the lists of eighteen Upapuranas which we have been able to collect from different sources ' and the numerous quotations made from a ' by many of the early Nibandha-writers would certainly appear to show that the present KCilikii-p. [...] (i) Trnavindu and Anildda (ii) Sanaka Sanatkumara and Kd vyakUta ( ? ) 2 and ( ) Sarya and his devotee 3 mentioed in connexion with some of the verses quoted from a ' in the above mentioned works is found in the extant Kalikep. and that the present KalikEi-p. [...] That by the word tithitattvakara ' Gadadhara means none but Raghunandana is shown by the fact that the references made by Gaddhara to the opinions of the ' Tithitattvakara' are all found in the Smrttattva of Raghunandana.
