[...] The precision and exactness of its statements and the aptness of the citations render it eminently suitable for forming and conveying to stdents a correct idea of the main features of Buddhist doctrine. [...] Interesting are the references to the a!;rama of Vat;istha in the kingdom of the Mallas. [...] Of interest to the Pauranic geographer is the reference to the places like Rämagrama in the land of the Koliyas where the eighth stiipa and a caitya were erected by ASoka.....
