The only way of making the whole account consistent is to take Vilivaya-;.f' kura as viceroy first of l'asistlAputra and thin of Gotamlputra as I have done in my "Early History of the Deccan." In the legends on coins it was usual to associate the name of the supreme sovereign with that of the viceroy of the particular province as Chatarapana's nameis with that of Yaj fie grigatakarni in the So [...] But the great difference in the legends and emblems on the coins of Kanishka and Wema Kadphises prevents the supposition that the former was the immediate successor of the latter. [...] Be it said however to the credit of the Germans that the various grades of the rolksschates are cliffi:rent from one another only in the matter of outward appearance the class of children who attend them and the amount of fees they pay. [...] Education there has not stopped with the mere training of the hand in the use of special tools ; but the head has been trained to direct the hand in the most intelligent way ; and the result of this twofold training shows in the trade reports of the German Empire and in the growing prosperity of the German populace. [...] These Institutions teach the science of disposing of the products of industry in the markets of the world and instruct the students how to buy and sell to the best advantage.
