The Indian Review a Monthly Periodical Devoted to the Discussion of all Topics of Interest November 1921

1921

It seems to me that the way out of the present situation is not by repressive measures but rather in the calling of a round table conference of the leaders.of the different parties to consider the whole situation and to try and find some mewls of winning the forces at present subvesive of order to the cause of law and order. [...] The lack of imagination and of real knowledge of the people in the ordinary Britisher makes it almost impossible for him to see the new political life of India in the right perspective and to realise adequately the Feeds of the country. [...] The first of it has been described as the labour upheaval and is characterised by the revolt of the wretched and the oppressed against the tyranny of the privileged and the higher classes. [...] The defeat of the White nation in the late Russo-Japanese War dissolved the supersttion of the supposed racial supremacy of the West. [...] The new life of the Asiatics resulted in the Chinese Revolution of 1910 which was crowned with success in the establishment of the first republic in Asia and in one of the oldest monarchies of the world.
