Astticly of the salts of chromium tris-biguanide with complex inorganic acids has now 'been made and forms the subject matter of the present communcation: Among the salts of the various complex acids studied it has been observed that those of the tribasic ones form sparingly soluble well-defined crystals; the salts of the dand monobasic complex acids contain an additiona foreign anion. [...] This as well as the formation of the anhydrous base—chromium Iriphenylbiguanide—furnish additional evidences in support of the constitution of chromium biguanidines or for the matter of that of the metal-biguanide complexes in general as deduced in Part I (Ray and Saha loc. [...] In that case a = 0.875; Hydroxo-aquo-chromiumbis-biguanide bromide was obtained as a rosered crystalline precipitate from a solution of the chloride by the addition of a concentrated solution of NH Br in the cold washed and dried as in the previous case. [...] It was observed that the influence of CH3 substitution in 4 and also in 6 position of the thionaphthene nucleus is to lighten the colour and in 5 position is to deepen the colour of the parent compound. [...] Again a comparison of the colours of the dyeings on wool and on cotton of bis-2-thionaphthene-ethyleneindigo and of benzylidene-2-thinaphthene and their and 6-methyl derivatives on wool indicates that the influence of CH3 substitution in 4 and 6 position of the thionaphthene nucleus is to lighten the colour and the CH3 substitution in 5 position deepens the colour.
