[...] President Truman's Disloyalty Test for employees of the Federal Government the many investigations of the Congressional Committee on Un-American Activities the launching of a special 'Freedom Train' to tour the country and exhibit the original documents on which the nation is founded all provide indications that it is now felt necessary to re-dedicate the people to the basic principles of Ameri [...] The timing of the manoeuvre (the Indian Government was then absorbed in the Punjab tragedy) the preliminary feint invasion in the south and north which scattered the state-forces and the main attack from the west : the whole plan revealed strategic intuition. [...] English has the glory of having carried the bulk of the propaganda of the Congress party and of all other inter-provincial movements; it keeps a remarkable hold on the journalistic world and is still the one language most understood in all the corners of the country.
