The drill performed to tune by children of eleven to fourteen years—girls and boys separately all of them barefooted; the tableau at the end in which they half-prostrated themselves on the ground the variegated colours of their uniform being in harmony with the colour of their flag; and the singing of their national songs were all delightful and inspiring. [...] And then in response to the proposal of Sir Akbar Hydari His Exalted Highness the Nizam in 1927 was pleased to give his gracious and personal support to the creation of the Osmania University with Urdu the lingua franca of India as the first medium of instruction and English as the compulsory second language a great stride towards the simplification of the educational problems of the State w [...] Its doors are open to the poor and the rich the high placed and the humble the Hindu the Mussalman and the Christian. [...] The University is located in a charming place on the banks of the Ganges away from the bustle of the the city. [...] The W. F. E. A. recommeds that the study of the efforts made throughout the world for inculcating in the youth in schools the spirit of world understanding and friendship should be continued and pursued methodically with a view to completing and keeping up-to-date the different studies and investigations which have been instituted on the subject.
