Is it a matter of pride for our people that our Province which has been the home of the best of IIindu and Mahomedan cultures should instead of giving a lead to other provinces be lagging behind ? In all humility but in your name may I remind the Government of their duty and beg of them to take early steps to reach the highest rungs of the eductional ladder ? In regard to the education of g [...] The principle of self-government converts the school into a home promotes friendly feelings between the teacher and the taught awakens the creative powers of pupils stimulates their initiative and fosters in them the desire to build the life of the school independently. [...] We have five universities in the country four of them directly controlled by the States' local governments The official tendency of the Government is to stimulate the development of private educational institutions just providing that they must not work against the fundamental laws and organization of the people being for that reason submitted to the official supervision. [...] What is the use of the developments of science if the majority of human beings is starving if the poorest of the poor cannot do without parting his hard peony to add to the wealth of some great capitalist. [...] The other grounds on which the development of science is disputed are the swelling body of the unemployed and the weakening of human capacity to work without the help of machines.
