The comparative poverty of the Gulf of Cambay in fact Gujrat waters as distinct from Kathiawar is on account of the mud washed clown by the rivers and the consequent siltation of the coast. [...] and Junaghad and so the lease amount is shared by the two Governments ; the other is the Mahisagar which flows into the Gulf of Cambay the tidal influence of which is felt beyond the villages of Dabka and Mujpur on the river. [...] The fisherfolk here exploit the fishing grounds between the mouths of the 'rapti and the Mindhola. [...] Sailing and fishing go together and the fishing classes are the Kolis the Mathis the Bhoyis the Kharvas the Badelas the Vaghers the Sangars. [...] Of Molluscs the important fisheries are those of the Pearl Oyster the Windowpane oyster the Conch the edible oyster and the Cephalopods the Squids and Cuttlmuikm s. fish.
