Rule 105 :—Members of the Asiatic Society of Bengal and of Branches and Associate Societies are entitled while on furlough or otherwise temporarily resident within the limits of Great Britain and Ireland to the use of the Library as Non-resident Members and to attend the Meeting of the Society other than Special General Meetings ; and in the case of any Member of any Society aforesaid applying f [...] The increase in the expenditure was;"6 QUARTERLY JOURNAL OP THE MYTHIC SOCIETY due among other reasons to the payment of enhanced dearness allowances the rise in the cost of paper and printing repairs to the premises and the cost of repairing old furniture and adding new furniture. [...] Just recently the celebration of the centenary of the Kannada theatre at Mysore and the exhibition of the various fine arts of the country in connection with it is an indication of the fact that there is beginning to be such renaissance. [...] Let me tell you that the progress of the world was not achieved by the glamour and noise of the many but by the devoted service of the few. [...] We hear nowadays of the ratio of medical men to the population or to a unit but the inscription quoted above brings to our mind the principle underlying the scheme of the ancient system of local bodies in the sphere of medical aid.
