To understand the real nature of these different states of consciousness I shall request my readers to compare the consciousness of the ordinary man with the consciousness of the astral man and again compare the latter with the consciousness of the spiritual Ego in man. [...] Consequently admitting the correctness of Mill's reasoning as regards the subject and object of our present plan of consciousness the great Adwaitee thinkers of India have extended the same reasoing to other states of consciousness and came to the coclusion that the various conditions of the Ego and the Non-Ego were but the appearances of one and the same entity—the ultimate state of unco [...] Mechanics teach us that the quantity of energy is determined by the weight of the mass of the substance in motion and the velocity of its motion ; and with the decrease of the mass the velocity of the motion must be considerably increased if we want to obtain the same effect. [...] The sayings of Yudhishthira on this subject in reply to the question of the great serpent in the Arannya Parra of the dha-Blirata and of Manu on the same point have already appeared—on page 285 of the THEOSOPHIST for August 1882 in the valuable contribution by Babu Raj Narain Bose. [...] The events of the drama occur in the dreary solitude of the mountains of Spain during the suprmacy of the Saracen conquerors.
