Can any unprejudiced mind after reading these traditional words of the Buddha maintain that the Tathagato was an enemy of the ancient Law of the A'ryans an opponent of the Vedas and a foe of the Brahman ? [...] The danger with mankind at the present day is that owing to the preponderance of gillysical desires and impressions and to the intellectual activities and selfish ambitions which are sometimes wholly limited to the material plane the connection between the former and the latter may become permanently severed and we have remaining only the animal in human form.
