In view of the fact that under changed conditions the occsion is to be taken not for the utterances of political obiter dicta but for a financial rendering of the coutry's industry and trade we think the suggestion that the leading addresses to the Associated Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce should attach themselves to the portfolio of the Finance Minis [...] For another while the points of disagreement with the business rendering of the case were clear and by no means evaded the broad assessment of the Government case is now seen to be far closer to the business rendering than pessimistic crtics of the Government in the business community have1048 THE EASTERN ECONOMIST December 17 1948. [...] The secession of the Socialist group has in a sense been symptomatic of this weakening of the solid phalanx which stood behind the Congress in the old days; the opposition of the R.S.
