It has come from a wholly White Bench of resolutions of the Unite Nations the Government of the Appellate Division of the supreme Court of the the Union of South Africa has gone on its own way Union of South Africa. [...] The hope for a gradual replacement of a major part of the French army with local recruits in Viet Nam has receded in view of the slowness of the training; to the French this means weaness in Europe and in particular weakness in relation to what they expe ct to be the strength of the proposed German army. [...] The principles of that settlement were that India having taken over the residual liabilities of the undivided Goernment the Indian Union must bd reimbursed by Pkistan to the extent of the difference between: (i) the total liabilities specifically attaching to assets located in Pakistan plus 171 per cent of the net excess of liabilities of the undivided Government over its assets.. [...] 49.08 crores already mentioned the payments agreed to by India for unique institutions the payment of the Reserve Fund of the Banking Department of the Reserve Bank additional payments out of the profits of the undivided Reserve Bank and the payment of bills due to contrators in Pakistan. [...] It is believed that the Soviet Union is deriving nearly $50 million a year through the control of the assets which consist of oil producing refining and tranport facilities and by the running of Austrian shipping facilities since the end of the war."496 THE EASTERN Obviously the suggestion that these assets should be returned to the Austrians will evoke Soviet oppostion to the early conclus
