At the present time the Secretary of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Idustry is a member of the House of the People and an influential member of the Congress Parliamentary Party. [...] The negative role of the Indian Committee for Cultural Freedom is to prevent 'totalitarianism either of the Fuehrer or the Welfare kind from destroying the power of.individual thought or expression The positive role of the Committee is to devise means for the rmoval of the political and economic pressures which already exist. [...] While in the latter group of cases the incidence of the duty is clear it is difficult yet to say how the estate of the deceased would be defined in respect of the Mitakshara and the allied systems of family laws. [...] If the rate of levy alters as a result of aggregation of non-taxable property the addtional tax is indirectly a tax on the non-taxable prperty Moreover if the agricultural property in a notaxing State is several times the value of the estate in the taxing State the latter gets by virtue of the location of the smaller part the entire benefit of the levy by the whole of the proceeds bei [...] the life of the new Sultan of Morocco is the first symptom of the unrest that has been created by the deposition of the pro-Nationalist Sultan and the installation of a puppet sponsored by conservative pro-French groups.
