13 EV Armistice Day Changes Controversy has recently taken place in India as a result of the announcement of the Home Goverquestion of calling a dignified halt to the general commemoration of the cessation of hostilities before the passage of time and dimming memories turn the ceremony into nothing more than a formal parade. [...] The bulk of opinion appears to favour the maintenance of the religiotis side of the day but is divided on the tribute and some form of Cenotaph gathering but it is high time the shoddy imitation of the two minutes silence was abolished. [...] His initiation of the office of High Commissioner has been at once a personal triumph and a justification of the creation of the post for there were many of his countrymen who held that it was an unnecessary luxury and in any case that its holder would be little more than an office boy to the lofty dignitaries of The Hon'ble Malik Feroze Khan a member of the Punjab Ministry is the first preside [...] The great event of the week was the fancy dress dance at the Adyar Club; the Club is so fearful of publicity so reticent lest its achievments should be known that we dare not offend it by a detailed description but those who attended the dance declare and with good reason that it was one of the merrest most interesting from the point of view of variety and the beauty of the costumes wo [...] The trmendous improvement made in the Club premises by the addition of the new Dance Hall and its lounge was amply demonstrated during the new dances with which the Gymkhana enlivened the Week.
