The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research has done valuable work within the limits of the funds allotted to it by Government and the Government of India have now agreed to the Council drawing up plans for a co-ordinated scheme for the advancement of research on the assumption that Rs. [...] The need for establishing national research laboratories to speed up industrial research in the country was rcognized soon after the inauguration of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and the past few years have constituted a period of intensive preparation for' the next important and constructive phase of the Councils' activities. [...] The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research is fully alive to the needs and has taken upon itself the task of preparing a planned prgramme which will involve the wisest use of the technical and scientific resources of the country. [...] For the sake of the work itself therefore publication is to the good and the only problem for the department concerned is to share out the chances of publication fairly. [...] 2. It will be seen that both " Sensitin S " and " Sensitin R " sensitise only in the far red end of the spectrum there being a gap between the end of the normal sensitivity of the plate and the beginning of the extrsensitisation band.
