During His Lordship's tenure of office as ∎ Thief Justice owing in a marked degree to his own personal efforts and the unstinted support of his colleagues the Court has been substantially strengtened by an increase in the number of the Judges which has enabled it to grapple with the previous accumulation of arrears and to make a systematic inspection of the Subordinate Courts of the Provin [...] Whether any particular relief prayed for in a suit or in an application should be granted or refused must depend upon the provisions of the particular branch of the law applcable to the case ; but those provisions concern the right of the party to get the relief ; they may be said to concern the authority or power of the Court to grant or refuse relief but they do not concern the authority of [...] Jn the last case the attention of the learned Judges was not drawn to the distinction between a decree in a suit and an order passed in execution of it and the different nature of the question that might be raised in them. [...] 214 of the Indian Company's Act though some of them may have signed on the faith of the signature of other Directors without enquiry as to the propriety of the order. [...] The decree-holder is therefore not entitled to interest for the period between the date of deposit of the purchase money and the date of the confirmation of sale.
