SECTIONS 18 & 29 OF THE INDIAN LIMITATION ACT The question of the applicability of section 18 of the Indian Limtation Act in the case of applications under section 174c1 (3) of the Bengal Tenancy Act is of great importance in the Muffasil districts in Bengal. [...] by the Limitation Act and the Special Act at the same the They further contend that the Legislature' by enacting trit ist. part of Susection (2) had only the intention of making sectiop 3 of the Indian Limitation Act applicable in the case of the periods of limitation prescribed by the Special or local law and that they had co other object in view. [...] The Bengal Legislature by amending section 185 in appropriate language have made section 29 of the Limitation Act inapplicable to suits appeals and applications specified in schedule 3 of the Bengal Tenancy Act and provided therein specifically fur the application or non-appliction of the provisions contained in the body of the Limitation Act. [...] In the last class of cases the Bengal Legislature evidently intended that they would be governed by the provisions of the. ist schedule of the Indian Limitation Act !Ind so the provisions"348 THE CALCUTTA LAW JOURNAL. [...] But if the notice is served on the natural guardian and he does not appear in the case within twenty-one days after the date of service of the notice the matter shall be brought to the notice of the Registrar with a view to the appointment of the Deputy Registrar as guardian ad litetn of the minor in question.
