following rule having been framed by the High Court of judicature at Fort William in Bengal in the execise of the power vested in it by section 122 of the Code of Civil Procedure (Act V of and sanctioned by the Governor General in Council under section 126 of the Code is published for general information :— Rule i. Insert the words “ for the ascertainment whether the suit will be contested” [...] 'Fake notice that in default of your appearance on the day before-mentioned the suit will be heard and determined in your absence and take further notice that in the event of your admiting the claim either in whole or in part the Court will forthwith Bass judgment in accordance with such admissions. [...] A great many important amendments in the statute Law of England bearing on the Commercial laws have been made in recent years and this edition incorporates the changes in the law thus made and brings the statement.of the law down to date. [...] The small size of the book and the magntude of the subject would prepare one for a sketchy presentation of the topics —but the book though in the main a summary is not sketchy. [...] Macmillan's work by drawing attention to the differences in the Scottish law of procedure which make the application of these statutes difficult and uncertain in Scotland will help to amend the laws with reference to those differences.
