THE fifth annual report of the Council of the Indian Institute of Science Indian Instsubmitted to the Viceroy as tute of Sci Bangalenceore patron recites among other things that in August 19'2 the auditor brought to the notice of the Council that in connection with the erection of the institute building the estimates have been greatly exceeded and that the Council stood committed to expendit [...] A note on the finances of the institute was prepared and submitted to the committee of enquiry with a request that they would ask the Government of India to make a grant of 5 lakhs to the institute to enable the prgramme of the building work to be carried out as originally contemplated. [...] The prize will be awarded to the best writer of a thesis on any indigenous drug or drugs to be selected by the competitor himself subject to the approval of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. [...] The names of the drugs so selected must be submitted to the Registrar for the approval of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine within three months from the date of this notice. [...] THE following Resolution of the Government of Bombay was published yesterday appointing a committee to consider the question of the rorganisation of the Government lAi.w School of Bombay :— At the meeting of the Legislative Council held on the 28th July 1913 the Hon'ble Mr.
