In the Bill no attempt has been made to define the word 'Hindu' and a definition of some kind for the pupose of the I3ill will certainly be welcome both to the Council as well as to the general public. [...] Some regard the distribution cif functions and powers between the Court Ind the Council on the one hand and the Senate and the Syndicate on the other as extremely happy. Professor Hashmat Rai attrbutes this achievement to the fact that the instruction in Science is given through the medium of Arya Bhasha. [...] The need for a medical degree lower in character and cheaper to obtain than the degree of M. B. and B. S. of the Bombay University came to be felt after the decision was arrived at in Iwo to abolish the I:nivepniay degree of L. M. & S. The College of Physicians and Surgeons Bombay was brought into being modelled on the lines of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Loudon.
