[...] Krans states that the defect is due to imperfect vocal organs but is capable of correction ; in the course of a few weeks the doctor treats the larynx orthopedically as it were: he places an apparatus in the larynx to re-establish the normal disposition of the vocal chords so as already remarked the eunuch becomes a virile voice. [...] Chloroform till recently folloing the assertions of Perrin and Lallemand merely remained in the system—the blood the liver and the brain—for a short time and was duly eliminated.
