I have Chosen as the title of my address: “The Law the Advocate and the Judge.” Each branch of the subject is fraught with memories of the past and each awakens thought on the problems of the present. [...] The stars ran the like courses in the days of Ptolemy as in the days of Sir Isaac Newton and the composition of matter was the same in the days of Aritotle as in the existing era of Sir J. J. Thomson and Sir Oliver Lodge. [...] It is the history of the development and growth of justice of duty of honesty of care of the upright fulfilment of obligations. [...] The likelihood of the same state of facts recurring and the importance of allieciding the point as a guide for the future the fault of the appellant in rot raising the point seasonably the hardship on both parties and the possibility of bad faith and veatiousness are worthy considerations. [...] The interest of a party who has lost his case below through his failure to rely on a technical defence which may be waived such as the Statute of Frauds or the Statute of Limitations is not of much importance and will not cause a reversal eves where the undisputed facts show that the plaintiff's right of action fell within the prhibition of one of these statutes On the other hand the inte
