Owing to the large number of small sums outstanding on the part of subscribers and the difficulty of recovering them it is notified under the orders of the Board of Management that:— (i) to all private subscribers in India who have not sent a Banker's order to The Ci ill and Military Gazette. [...] 36 Lahore by the end of the last mouth to which their subscription extends the first issue of the following yoar of the Indian Forester will be sent by V. P.1'. [...] In this way the whole country is drained by the Pabar the Tons and the Yamuna in the north and the Bhagirathi the Bhillangna and the Alaknanda ip the south. [...] The forest department has been urging the government of Bengal for many years to legilate for the afforestation of waste lands and for the conservation of what is left of the private forests. [...] The cultivation of bamboos and the conversion of sonic of the waste lands into grazing grounds is also part of the programme.
