(b) to disseminate information about the silviculture of the different kinds of trees which can be grown in the district ; to take effective steps to diminish the damage on account of biotic factors to the vegetation of the district ; (d) to organize a steady and systematic supply of seeds and seedlings of trees which will grow in that locality to those institutions and persons who require the sam [...] As the quality of the instruction depends on the quality of the staff and as the staff is drawn frOm the forest services of the States that responsibility can only be properly discharged through the willing co-operation of the States in deputing their best officers for service in the Colleges. [...] "An additional reason for the maintenance of the highest possible standards in forest education lies in the fact that the offer made by the Government of India at the recent meeting at Bangkok of the Forest and Forest Products Commission for South-East Asia to place the educational facilities available at the Forest Research Institute and Colleges at the disposal of countries in the region has bee [...] In his report the Principal traced the history of the college and particulars about the strength of the Officers wing and the Rangers wing of the college. [...] The Principal then referred to the present made by the Inspector-General of Forests of two mounted bison heads to the "Gass Forest Museum ". Changes in staff consequent on the abolition of the Officers wing and other causes were referred to and the results of the examinations announced.
