Harekrishna Mahtab former premier of Orissa now Minister for Industries and Supply in the Central Government speaking a few days 'earlier at the Baisakhi Utsav held at the Nizam's Palace in Calcutta under the auspices of the Calcutta Art Society said that he considered Baisakh a sacred month because it saw the birth of two of the most outstanding sons of India namely Lord Buddha and Rabindran [...] He described in the following words the importance of Gurudeva's"114 VISVA-BHARATI NEWS gifts in the life of the nation. [...] The All India Radio fittingly chose this occasion for the inauguration of an Auxiliary Studio at Santiniketan as already noted in our previous issue The opening of the Studio which is housed in the western wing of the Sangit Bhavan building was conducted with the type of Ceremony usual in Santinketan. [...] The problem of correlated teaching as outlined in the revised primary syllabus of the Government was discussed in detail and the tried methods of adult education were suggested. [...] The first batch decorated the top-panels of the six central pillars of the refectory with flower-and-creeper designs copied from the Ajanta.
