The contents are of unique interest for not only is Shantidas confirmed in the possession of the village hill and temple of Palitana including the grass and the timber on the hill but the favourite jeweller of the court now receives at the end of his career a further grant of the hill and temples of Girnar under the jurisdiction of Junagadh and of Abu under that of Sirohi as a special favo [...] This Farman which is now in the custody of the Dordi family of Naysari has also been edited with copious notes by the late Sir J. J. Moth in his paper entitled A Farman of the Emperor Jehangir in favour of two Parsees of the Dordi family of Naosari and published in the Journal of the Bombay Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society.2 (ii) Besides the Farmans granted to the Parsis of Naysari we may r [...] The Farman itself is dated the 2nd of Amardad in the eleventh year of the accession (July 1616) which shows that an interval of about six months elapsed between the recording of the order at Ajmer in the Diary and the issue of the Farman in its final form.
