1. Order Coleoptera Family Cicindelidæ.—By E. T. ATKINSON B. A. The nucleus of the biological collections of the Indian Museum was formed from the old collections of the Asiatic Society and of late years considerable attention has been devoted to the subject of redering these collections more accessible to the public and more useful in advancing the cause of biological research in India. [...] It has been found that the first steps to be taken in these directions are the formtion of correctly named collections and the publication of catalogues not only of the specimens actually in the Museum but of the Oriental Region as a whole. [...] Some progress has been made in this direction our collections of insects are gradually being sent to specialists in Erope for identification the catalogues of the Vertebrata are provided for and we have already a catalogue of the Molluscs and of the species of the Icarious families of the animal kingdom found by Dr. [...] 1862 p. 22.4 T.
