1 Sometimes the masculine long form in iT is used and more often the feminine long form in Examples — leirt a ' palanquin.' Tim a basket.' a son.' a water-vessel.' erfT a pestle.' (nit 4 a petty palanquin.' Ta-r4A. [...] (2) war is sometimes omitted especially in the nominative plural and in the case of things without life ; thus virr 4 a man ' or men % a bullock ' or 4 bullocks % *7 a she-goat ' or shgoats ' and so on. [...] The old rare form of the plural is %Kim ilrgir-111 &AN Similarly are declined a bullock ' VIN:117 a horse ' firvran a whelp ' *arm clothes ' rim ' a basket ' *in a moustache.' gip a calf ' &o. [...] The direct form is that used with the nominative the oblique is that used in the accusative and sometimes in the dative the genitive is that used in the other cases and sometimes in the dative. [...] In other words the oblique form is used in the accusative with the postpositions RR and MT and it is also used in the dative with the same postpositions.
