The Finance Minister of the Federal government will have the prvilege of the provincial M nisters under the present system of not only being controlled by the legislature but also running the risk of receiving rude 'no's from the GovernoGeneral with the assistance of a Financial advisor appointed by and responsible to the Governor-General alone. [...] Broacasting in another element and on a vaster scale was the equivalent of the motor-bus that linked town and country of liners and areoplanes that made near neighbours of all the nations of the world and of the products of science and and mechanical invention that knitted the peoples of the globe within the framework of a new economic unity. [...] Siepmann added "a generation of men for whom the barriers of class the strangeness of different nationality the limitations of experience and opportunity and interest are lessened—a generation united by the humane influences of music and the drama and given as never in the past to the discussion of great issues without acrmony but rather with an increasing sense of the complexity of trut [...] In consequence of this representation of the deputation of the said Society when the Select Committee on the Ottawa Tariff Bill introduced by the Commerce Member in the Indian Legislative Assembly on the strength of the Ottawa Trade Agreemeut between the Government of India and British Government which prposed among other things to increase the import duty on non-British photographic goods [...] This of course means a correspondingly big addition to the coffers of the university in the shape of fees that it has received The increase in the numbers of examinees also reflects the progressive form of education in Bengal to which a further testimony has been borne by the report of the Director of Public Instrution that has been recently published.
