Classification of Plants Having completed the study of the varioss parts of plants and the various kinds of these parts we arrive at a stage when we may with advantage consider the scientific classification of the representatives of the Vegetable kingdom. [...] The lion the tiger the cat the wolf the dog and the hyena all belong to the order called Vertebrate so called on account of the well developed vertebral column they all possess. [...] For the lion the tiger and the cat have further resemblances such as the structures of their bodies the number of bones and their formation the nature of their eyes claws etc. [...] The Botanical name of each plant it may be incidentally observed gives us both the name of the genus and the species to which the plants belongs as in Citrus.Aurantium for the orange and in Citrus Modica for the Lemon.
