Thus the century and three-quarters that elapsed frOm the death of Blesed Margaret Mary towards the end of the seventeenth century before Rome finally granted to the Universal Church the Mass and Office of the Sacred Heart must have proved wearisome in the extreme to the zealous official and private promoters of the cultus of the Sacred Heart ; but who will dare say that Rome by her reserve [...] To this privileged soul was it reserved to propagate the devotion to the Heart of Mary to transfer it from the domain of mysticism into that of Christian asceticism from being the privilege of a few to make it the possession of the many consttuting it an objective deVotion with appropriate prayers and special exercises the value and practice of which he and the priests of his Society extolle [...] And just as devotion to the Heart of the Mother cannot be separated from devotion to the Heart of the Son so on the other hand devotion to the Heart of the on would seem to require in some complmentary fashion devotion to the :Heart of the Mother. [...] and the book itself contains the story of the origin of the human race of the origin and seletion and early days of the Chosen People. [...] First is the story of the Creation of our first Parents and their Fall of the children of Seth born to replace Abel of the corruption of Man bringing about the Deluge of the restoration of Man in Noe of the Tower of Babel and the consequent scattering of the human race.
