The mosque of Suleyman the Magnificent deserves special mention because of the use of the white crystal glass with the coloured one which gives it a jewel-like effect and throws up the writings of the Koran in vivid colours on the floor when the sun shines through. [...] Though it has led on to a stereotyped uniformity in the products still in the systematic thoroughness of the work in the sound psychological basis of their course of study in the training and professional standing of their teachers the Germans are in the advance guard of educational progress. [...] Possibly Adam Smith was the first to call the attention of the Government in the latter half of the 18th century to the importance of educating the masses.
