D. 68 it is certain that there were Indian Christians in the southern half of the Peninsula before the close of the second century of our era. [...] Between the principality of Sarawak on the north-west and the territory of British North Borneo on the north-east there lies the territory of the Sultan of Brunei. [...] AS for the rapid and wide-spread growth of the religion of the false prophet it may be explained partly by the practical genius of Mohammed partly by the rare qualities of the Arab race.
