The introductory portion containing nine verses usually found in Gahadavala grants and the descriptive portion of ChandradE.va and Madanapaladi3va the granfather and father respectively of GGvindachandra&va the grantor king of the present document is identical with that in the Kamauli plate of the same king of the year 1182 already published.' The place from which the grant was issued is los [...] Then follows the description of the poetic genius of the the author that he was foremost amongst the poets and that his poetical composition in the Vaidarbhi style in which he was so skilled did not but cause wonder in lines 7 and 8 and of his asceticism in line 9. The description of the poet's family commences obviously before the 6th line. [...] It is difficult to say if the verse preceding the mention of Devapala's name refer to the ancestors of the king or to the poet hiself owing to the major part of the epigraph having been broken off and lost. [...] The next point is the identification of Vairata the capital of the hero of the poem. [...] As regards the date of the story it may be noted that the pedigree of the Doti family of the Katyuri dynasty shows that the first king to assume the title of was Arjuna gab! the 39th of the list.
