Not only is the municipality having extra and extraordnary sessions to record magnificent.resolutions to adorn and beautify the town by means of v. g. the buying ()lithe HowraAmta Railway or the branch on this side of the bridge of the Calcutta Tram Co. [...] on which are inscribed with a delicate and skilful hand the hours of the Sunday and weekly services ; the luxurious dark-green Humber motor car and its stately seven-seater Willis Knight Brother housed in the abovenamed shed to say nothing of many other innovations and renovations will go far to convince all unbelievers of the truth of my assertion. [...] A great step indeed ! Their tact and skill in collecting subscriptions to the C. A. B. have doubled the number of members and the donations to the Pope's jubilee fund have shown how much can be got from parishioners if only we take the right means of getting it. [...] But I do not think that I will wrong anyone in saying that much of the improvement in the conduct and life of our Catholics is perhaps due also to the presence of Fr. [...] We however confidently hope that the untold prayers and mortifications ofered during the retreats and especially during the long night adorations will not long remain unanswered and that He will soon permit that the cherished wish of the good Father be fufilled in a way and measure beyond all his calculations and expectations.
