The Collector of Puri is the Receiver of the attached shares in the former under section 503 of the Code of Civil Procedure and the latter is now under the management of the Court of Wards. [...] The proceedings were instituted in the Jagirmahals on the application of the Collector as Receiver and in Parikud at the instance of the Court of Wards. [...] The Chilka was formerly the highway of the southern parganas of the aistrict and the only export route with the Ganjam aistrict of the Madras Presidency. [...] At present 10 annas of the Jagirmahals are under attachment of the Civil Court under section 503 of the Civil Procdure Code and the Collector of the district is the Receiver of the property. [...] He possessed Parikud and other territoiies in the time of the Mothitts He fought against the Subandar of the province on behalf of Nawab Prasuram Rar t and defeated him receiving large grants of territory from the Nawab as his reward Iriftwards the close a the Marahatta rule the Rajah Hari Sebak of Parikud was defeated by the Rajah of Khurda and lost most of his possessions.
