(5) The licensee shall maintain the aerodrome in a fit state for use by aircraft and adequately marked to the satisfaction of the Governor General in Council during the whole period of the currency of the licence where this exceeds a period of three months and shall if the aerodrome becomes unseviceable immediately notify the Director of Civil Aviation in India by telegraph.- 87. [...] In the event of there being no wind or a light irregular wind the T shall be fixed in the direction in which the landing or departure is to be made and the fact that it is fixed shall be signalled by the presence of a mounted on a mast on the signal area and clearly visible both to aircraft in flight and to those manoeuvring on the landing area. [...] 1. The landing area shall be of adequate dimensions for the type of aircraft in respect of which the licence is required having regard to the altitude of the ground and the nature of surrounding obstructions. [...] 4. Any flight of which prior notice is given to the Aerodrome Officer and which is undertaken solely for the purpose of ascertaining the servicability in the air of the engine or engines air frame or equipment of the aircraft flown shall be deemed to be a test flight and exempt from the levy of a landing fee. [...] The purposes of the markings are :— (a) to call the attention of a pilot in the air to the aerodrome and to show to him clearly the exact an'a on which it is safe to land (b) to demarcate the boundaries of the landing area which is safe for pilots manoeuvring aircraft on the ground.
