It is possible that the syllabus is too extensive and that some modifications are necessary —perhaps in the direction of making some of the present subjects for examination optional ; but the connecthm of the College with the University of Bombay has in my opinion raised the status of the institution and the standard of teaching. [...] The delay in the construction of buildings except in Sind where most of them are constructed departmentally is one of the chief reasons for slow progress in the development of the Department in certain branches. [...] A special staff was engaged to assist the permanent officers of the Deparment in distributing seed and in supervising sowings and cultivation and the despatch of the cotton to the four depOts established by the Bombay Cotton Syndicate. [...] The Divisional Inspector of Agriculture helps to arrange the programme and details of management and officers of the Agricultural Veterinary and Co-operative branches of the Department give lectures in the Vernacular. [...] that the demonstrations of the preparation of prickly-pear in Ahmednagar District have had a permanent effect and it is certain that the demonstration of spraying of grape vines to prevent mildew round Nasik has led to the adoption of the practice.
