The co-operative irrigation socities are a special feature in the districts of Bankura and Birbhum and towards the end of the year a demand has arisen for the formation of such societies in the districts of Malda Burdwan and Midnapore. [...] WithIi the exception of the district of Howrah where a reconstitution is being made of the credit movement by the elimination of bad and hopeless societies all the ditricts in the province were responsible for the increase as will be seen from Table III. [...] The audit classification as exhbited in Table III which may be safely taken to represent the worst view of the societies gives an increase of 18 societies of A " class and a decrease of 10 scieties of " B " class an increase of 853 societies of " C " class of 137 of " 1) class and of 83 of " E " class over the figures of the preceding year which as stated in the last report were the best [...] Of the societies for the sale of jute the pioneer' society at Chtindpur has been of the greatest assistance in establishing the mark of these societies with the mills. [...] The set hack is due to the unfotunate experience in connection with the execution through the Irrigation Deparment of the three stream societies in the district—Salbund Kukrajhore and Amjhore The working capital of these societies rose from Rs.
