Indian Museum Annual Report Lists of Accessions and Selected Extracts of Minutes. April 1883 to March 1884

THE following report on the administration of the Indian Museum Trust during the year ending on the 31st March 1884 is submitted for the information of His Excellency the Right Honourable the Governor General in Council :— MEMBERS At the commencement of the year the Board. [...] A permanent building connected with the Museum has been erected on the Chowringhee frontage which after having served the temporary purpose of the Exhibition it was intended to devote to the Exhibition of the valuable series of Indian 9REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE art manufactures and economic produce which has been collected by Mr. [...] ANDERSON'S time during the first and second quarters of the past year was almost exclusively devoted to the prepration of the second part of the Catalogue of the Archmlogical collections &c. [...] During the third quarter he completed the re-arrangement of the entire collection of stuffed Birds distributing it over the cases formerly occupied by the Reptiles and affixed to each specimen a printed card bearing the name of the species ; and before the end of the same quarter he had finished the second volume of the Archmological Catalogue and identified a number of inscriptions which form [...] During the Exhibition no account was kept on the part of the Museum of the number of Visitors to the Museum and' Exhibition.
