[...] In case of Simodra the decline in the poplation is due to the scarcity of marriageable girls in the Rajput Community and the steady emigration of the Kaliparaj population from the village owing to the difficulty of finding employment in the village itself. [...] The following table will giVe the reader the idea of the indebtedness of the five villages surveyed. [...] The detailed analysis of the causes of the debt shows that in majority of the cases the largest percentage of debt is contracted purely for causes connected with ceremonies and other social calls.
