WE now come to the special rules of letter-writing. The first thing to be written in any ordinary letter is the address of the writer and the date of the letter. [...] These should be written in the top right-hand corner the number of the house and the name of the street on the first line the name of the town on the second and the (late on the third ; thtt-; :- 45 Lowca.inan ROAD CAD TTTA 31st January 1690. When the address is printed as it usually is on comercial note paper the name of the town is put 'in the same line as the date ; thus :— 5 cow:form:NT PLACE CALcurra 1 s and all the writer has to do is to fill in the day of the month the month and the final numbers of the year. [...] Attention should be paid to the punctuation of the heading ; there should be a comma after the number of the street a comma after the name of the street and a full stop after the name of the town i.e. [...] In business letters instead of the name of the month being given its number in the list of the months of the year may be written 13-6-90 or 13/6/90 the 6 denoting the 6th month of the year i.e.
